Thinking about universities from students

“Give students a wage,” a seemingly outlandish statement that appeared in Italy 60 years ago, may help us to rethink the issue of universities from the perspective of students who are actually charged tuition fees. Guests will be Dr. Yasushi Kurihara and Dr. Yoshiharu Shiraishi, who will discuss the issue of students and universities, focusing on this theme of “students’ wages. The perspectives of Dr. Kurihara, who has written a book titled “Wage for Students” and depicts politics as a dynamic raw material, and Dr. Shiraishi, who questions civilization itself and advocates liberation from its fetters, can create a crack in the situation where students are regarded as “consumers” and where students themselves are regarded as “consumers”. In order to bring about this crack from the inside, we will be participating in the festival to create a place where discussion can be enlivened and the situation shaken up.
